The Joys of Free Basic Cable

A visiting friend discovered an “open” cable hook-up on the side of my building, and connected me to some FREE basic cable. Awesome right? Especially considering there’s no point in watching the 5 fuzzy channels on regular TV. But I discovered that Chicago basic cable is made up of 33% Spanish language channels, 33% Urban channels, and the Jerry Springer channel. Awesome or IQ-draining? You decide!
