A visiting friend discovered an “open” cable hook-up on the side of my building, and connected me to some FREE basic cable. Awesome right? Especially considering there’s no point in watching the 5 fuzzy channels on regular TV. But I discovered that Chicago basic cable is made up of 33% Spanish language channels, 33% Urban channels, and the Jerry Springer channel. Awesome or IQ-draining? You decide!

Boing Boing Orange Juice

I was at the Strack & Van Til grocery in Chicago tonight, and noticed the “Boing” brand of juices in the Latino foods aisle. Amazingly enough, they were sitting in pairs, side-by-side, just as my camera phone captured it. I’d never heard of the stuff (it’s not as prolific as Jarritos or Jumex), but if it’s anything like the blog, I’m sure it’s delicious! (Just kidding; I’m sure it’s 99% syrup, chick full o’ aspartame.)

Andy & Kickel are a prepubescent vaudeville comedy duo. Though somewhat crude and delightfully simple (both the humor and the animation style), the series features corny jokes, a singing foursome chorus, and Photoshopped images.

In this edition, A&K conjure up the spirit of the Irish. Then they regurgitate it.

Reel of Fortune was a movie title game I developed for Liquid Generation a couple years ago. The basic concept was Wheel of Fortune (hence the name!) but all movie-related answers. You can even win a prize at the end! (Well it’s an image of a prize. And it’s always an absurd prize.)

This particular game is the “Beer Movies” edition.
